Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! The number of shopping days til Christmas is fading fast. Since Thanksgiving was so late this year, we now only have about three full weeks of shopping before Christmas.
Did you know that a J-Pole antenna makes a great Christmas gift? Why now give a good antenna to that new ham in your life. Order online and I will drop ship them to any US address. [pq]Wouldn’t you love to see a KB9VBR J-Pole Antenna under your Christmas tree?[/pq] If you want your antenna shipped as a gift to a friend, just leave me a note during the checkout process of who and where you want the antenna to go. I’ll even include a nice little card wishing the recipient a Happy Holidays.
The last day to order an antenna for Christmas delivery is Friday, December 20th 2013
All orders received by 5:00pm on Friday December 20th will be shipped in time for arrival no later than December 24th. Any ordered after the 20th will be dispatched as soon as possible. I use USPS Priority Mail, but even then, an antenna ordered on the 23rd most likely won’t arrive until after the 26th. If you want to see a KB9VBR antenna under the tree, I recommend ordering sooner, than later. The Postal Service can get quite busy, and I wouldn’t want to see your gift delayed due to a slowdown in shipping.
Your web page and blog are interesting. I am trying to use one antenna for VHF-UHF i.e. 2m and 440 Ham frequencies. Your J-Pole looks good but I need dual band. Will use with my HT
Gary,
Thank you for your interest in my antennas. The 2 meter J-Pole antenna also works quite well on the 440 band. The SWR at 445 MHz is about 1.5:1 or so. The only downside for UHF operation is the antenna is a 7/8 wave on the UHF frequencies, so it does exhibit a high RF takeoff angle. More RF energy goes into the sky than the horizon. Otherwise the antenna works great for local repeater contacts and such on the UHF band.
I do use my antennas on my dual band radio and have no problems hitting the area repeaters with it on 440, even though the antenna is mounted only 10 feet in the air.
